Exploring our connection to food.

A Kitchen Edit was born out of habits that were part of our lives long before we ever imagined turning them into a business. Growing up in Ukraine, every Sunday our mom and grandma turned the kitchen into a meal prep marathon with pots simmering, counters full, everyone circling around, and by the end of the day meals for the week were ready to go. Long before meal prep became a lifestyle trend, they were already doing it: cooking ahead, keeping everyone fed, and making it all look effortless. They were the original meal prep influencers, just without the mason jars and matching labels.

When we began building A Kitchen Edit, we realized just how much those routines had shaped the way we cook. Eating seasonally wasn’t a philosophy, it was simply how life worked. Our mom raised us on cooking with what was fresh, what was available, and what made sense for the season. Our mom and grandma were incredibly resourceful, turning simple ingredients into meals that were flavorful, practical, and never repetitive. They instinctively knew how to plan ahead, use ingredients wisely, and keep variety on the table, all of the skills that shaped the way we cook to this day.

We also grew up in a big family where everyone had opinions, nobody wanted to eat the same thing every day, and there was always strong feedback about what should be made next. Good food mattered, variety mattered, and meals were something everyone gathered around. Somewhere between those Sunday kitchen marathons and all those loud family opinions, we learned that planning ahead could make life easier.

That is the heart of A Kitchen Edit: flavorful, home-style meals that bring ease to busy weeks, enough variety to keep things interesting, and the comforting feeling that someone already figured out dinner.

Olesya - Cofounder & Recipe Brain Behind A Kitchen Edit

I’ve always believed the best way to connect with people is to feed them. I love discovering new recipes, wandering the market for inspiration, and thinking through what will make a meal feel special.

I love the rhythm of cooking, the planning, the preparation, and the joy of a shared meal. There’s something deeply satisfying about bringing people together around food and creating moments that feel comforting and intentional.

With a background in visual editing, I naturally think about structure, balance, and the little details that make everything work. A Kitchen Edit brings all of that together: creativity, care, and a commitment to making everyday meals feel thoughtful, approachable, and worth gathering around, while making sure no one is left wondering what’s for dinner.

Karina - Cofounder & Numbers-Driven Recipe Tester

I trust numbers because they’re consistent, dependable, and far less likely to improvise halfway through a recipe. While ideas may start with inspiration, I’m usually the one bringing structure to the process and making sure everything comes together in a way that works.

I tend to be the person helping turn big ideas into practical plans, making sure the creative energy behind every meal is supported by thoughtful planning and attention to detail. Every great kitchen experiment needs balance, and that’s where I naturally focus.

At A Kitchen Edit, my role is making sure our ideas don’t just sound good, they work in real kitchens for real people. If Olesya is the spark, I’m the one helping shape that spark into something reliable, thoughtful, and worth coming back to.
